SLICING this is the biggest problem for the average golfer.

PROBLEM:

Clubface is open at impact, causing the ball to swerve to the right, the amount the ball moves will be related to what club you have in your hand, how fast your swing is and how open the club face is at impact

Here is some advice to help you cure your slice.

GRIP:

If you are struggling with a slice the best place to start is your grip.

A good golf grip allows you to make solid contact and hit accurate shots consistently

The Great Ben Hogan once said "Good golf begins with a good grip"

So with this said here is some advice on holding the club correctly.

1. Place your left hand on the grip, the V formed by your thumb and index finger of your left hand should point to somewhere between your right eye and right shoulder.

2. Now place your right hand on the golf club making sure the V on the right hand is parallel to the V on the left, this will make sure that the hands are working as a unit and they are not fighting against each other.

3. Also make sure that the index finger of the right hand wraps around the golf grip gripping it in a trigger like fashion

There are many variations on holding the golf club there is the Vardon grip (overlapping grip) this is by far the most common grip in golf,

The interlocking grip (used by Tiger Woods)

And the baseball grip or ten finger hold

Another thing to remember is not to hold the club too tightly; if you do you will ruin your chance of a good swing before you start as the tension created by strangling the club will not allow you to use your hands properly during the swing.

Make sure you only apply enough pressure to securely hold the golf club, remember that the grip will naturally tighten a bit on your downswing anyway.

A good test when finding out if your grip is too tight is let a friend try and pull the golf club out of your hands, He / She should be able to do this with very little effort

Quick tip reminder.

1. make sure both v's point parallel to each other towards the right shoulder.

2. Don’t strangle the club
